Notes from Planning Day
Members of the committees new and old met recently for the annual Planning Day. We started by determining positions:
President: Adam Wilson
Vice President: Ranse McLean
Secretary: Ed Huddy
Treasurer: Isidro Steger
Communications Officer: Neil Price
Equipment Officer: James Cole
CF & SRA Officer 1: Matthew Caldow
CF & SRA Officer 2: Michael Hutchison
Social Officer 1: Samuel Bullock
Social Officer 2: Nick Ahern
So a few roles have new committee members and I welcome those guys to the committee and look forward to working with them in the coming months.
Turning to the Premier League, we will continue participation in the newly sponsored Gatorade Premier League with John Mitchell at the helm. We also examined plans for State League, Masters and coaches for next year – we plan to maintain the same amount of teams in both leagues. As you can see from recent emails, we will need new coaches for next season, so if you’re interested, please get in touch with Neil Price at communications@anufc.org.au.
Sponsorship continues to be a major goal of this committee – Ranse will soon be meeting with sponsors from last year and a couple of new ones who have shown an interest in the club, if you know someone, be it a family member or friend, who may be able to invest in the Club please contact Ranse at Ranse.Mclean@health.gov.au the more sponsorship the Club has the cheaper fees will be, the more new equipment we will have and the bigger the social events can be.
We will be forming a number of subcommittees this season to address larger issues like the Willows project and Strategic plan for the club. And in general, we will be trying to keep you all informed and hope that you will stay involved with any issues that interest you. So don’t hesitate to contact any of us if you want to discuss anything about the club.
2010 is shaping up to be a massive season for ANU FC and for Football in Australia with the World Cup being held in South Africa in June/July. I look forward to playing some “good football” and working with everyone to make it a massively successful year!
Adam Wilson
President
